Sóley takes the prize for Best Music Video


 
Sóley Stefánsdóttir a.k.a. Sóley won the prize for the Best Icelandic Music Video of 2011 at Northern Wave Film Festival last Sunday. The video is for her song “Smashed Birds” from her Morr Music released album We Sink. The video was directed by Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir who we all know as the artwork designer for artists like Sigur Rós, Jónsi, múm and Sin Fang.
 
As you’ve most likely learned before, gogoyoko partnered with the film festival in nominating the best videos.

Video: Agent Fresco acoustic at “gogoyoko wireless”


 
Agent Fresco‘s performance at gogoyoko wireless in October 2011 was a real treat. This award winning rock band is known best for their highly emotional lyrics and even more emotional live performances. Here’s a video of them playing “Above the City Lights” acoustic along with a string quartet. This song is taken from their 2010′s debut full length A Long Time Listening.

It’s clear as day that Sin Fang put a lot of emphasis on music videos, this one for Because of the Blood. This video, like Sin Fang’s Slowlights, was directed by Máni M. Sigfússon.
