The Canadian art folk duo Elfin Saddle released their third full length, Devastates, via the solid Montreal imprint Constellation last week. Here’s the music video from the album’s closing track made by the leading band members, Emi Honda and Jordan McKenzie.
Grimes is releasing Visions, her third album and her first for 4AD Records, next week. Here’s her video for the song “Oblivion”. Visions is packed to the punch with several styles clashing, including 80s synth pop, kraut rock, korean-style opera etc.

Sóley Stefánsdóttir a.k.a. Sóley won the prize for the Best Icelandic Music Video of 2011 at Northern Wave Film Festival last Sunday. The video is for her song “Smashed Birds” from her Morr Music released album We Sink. The video was directed by Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir who we all know as the artwork designer for artists like Sigur Rós, Jónsi, múm and Sin Fang.

KEXP 90.3 have published a selection of videos shot the days before their broadcast at Kex Hostel during last year’s Iceland Airwaves Music Festival. The newest addition are two videos from the session they did with the prolific Prinspóló – a quartet lead by the multitasking label boss, graphic designer and Skakkamanage-singer and Crepes-expert Svavar Pétur Eysteinsson.
KEXP 90.3 have published a new batch of videos shot during their stay at Iceland Airwaves Music Festival in October last year almost daily for the last week. Here we have two videos of the up and coming band Kiriyama Family – a quintet that comes straight from the South Coast of Iceland and features ex-members of Benny Crespo’s Gang and NilFisk.
Agent Fresco‘s performance at gogoyoko wireless in October 2011 was a real treat. This award winning rock band is known best for their highly emotional lyrics and even more emotional live performances. Here’s a video of them playing “Above the City Lights” acoustic along with a string quartet. This song is taken from their 2010′s debut full length A Long Time Listening.
Bay Area’s Ceremony are releasing their first Matador album, Zoo, on March 6th. The first video from the album is directed by Robert Semmer.
Sin Fang has been a reoccurring guest here as we count down the nominations for Best Icelandic Music Video of 2011, but today we tell you about his 3rd nomination. It’s clear as day that Sin Fang put a lot of emphasis on music videos, this one for Because of the Blood. This video, like Sin Fang’s Slowlights, was directed by Máni M. Sigfússon.
