Sometime have released the first single from their upcoming sophomore album, Music From The Motion Picture ‘Acid Make-Out’. The single is entitled ‘Mind Repair’ and it’s a pleasant step up from their debut album. The track shows a deeper and more dramatic sides of Sometime.
Iceland electro pop quintet FM Belfast have premiered a brand new video for the opening track from their excellent second album of 2011, Don’t Want Go To Sleep. ‘Stripes’ was directed by Steinar Júlíusson who also did the animation with Oscar Gränse.
FM Belfast is playing numerous music festivals in Europe this summer and they’re also preparing a new single that’s due on Morr Music later this summer.
Cochon Ville is the first single taken from Sébastien Tellier‘s new album “My God Is Blue” that will be available soon worldwide from Parisian label Record Makers. The single features the original and three remixes of this great song, including this one by former Aeroplane leader The Magician.

The London-based trio Daughter has signed to 4AD Records. Daughter consists of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella and they’re currently working on their debut full length that’s due later this year. Daughter will perfom at this year’s Iceland Airwaves Music Festival.

The Icelandic audio/visual artist Kira Kira (a.k.a. Kristín Björg Kristjánsdóttir) is getting ready for the release of her third full length album and her first for Morr Music’s sub label Sound Of A Handshake. The album title has been announced and it’s called Feathermagnetik and it’s due on June 1st.
The Seattle radio/internet station KEXP visited Iceland last October and shot performances with almost half of the active artists and bands in Reykjavík during their week long stay over the last Iceland Airwaves Music Festival. Most music documentaries seem to have the aim to give us valuable insight into the lives of some of our favorite musicians, their rise to stardom or their fall to oblivion. But it’s not every day that someone sets out to make a documentary about a 70 year old woman who at the time was entering the realm of the music business. But that’s exactly what Kristín Björk Kristjánsdóttir (aka Kira Kira), Orri Jónsson (a member of Slowblow) and Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir (who’s made a name for herself directing music videos for the likes of Sin Fang, Sóley, múm and Jónsi) set out to do shortly after meeting Sigríður Níelsdóttir 8 years ago.

Die Jungen is the solo project of one Southampton-based Klaus Von Barrel who also is a leading member of the fuzz laden dark wave outfit The KVB. Die Jungen just released his debut, At Breath’s End, via LebenStrasse Records and it’s a plentiful batch of gold plate reverb drenched rock n’ roll echoing the fifties & sixties, early David Lynch flicks and Phil Spector-esque wall of sound.
